Re: Pipe Forum: new members (introduce yourself)
Hello all fellow pipesmokers
![]() I'm +30 and live in Finland. Smoked cigarrettes for ten years when I was younger (from 13 to 23), found out the pleasure of quality pipetobacco couple of years ago. Found this forum when I was googling for some MacBarens blends and Penzance - read few interesting topics and decided to register. Too bad, that Finland is a real desert when it comes to pipetobaccos - mostly Peterson's and SG available, but only few "better" blends! Good thing is, that I can get SG flakes from my local tobacconist FVF and Chocolate Flake are both great, but need to explore more...Just made an order to cupojoes.com, some penzance and MB honey & chocolate on their way - atleast I hope so. Going to Estonia to get plumcake and dark twist, I think that those blends work just fine for me?!? Well, can't think of anything important right now... |

Afternoon all!
As part of my long-standing battle with tobacco, I think the fact that I'm a new member on a cigar forum means tobacco is winning. It's latest form is in pipes, but also takes the form of shisha ![]() |

Re: Pipe Forum: new members (introduce yourself)
Ooops, I introduced myself on the general cigar forum. I'll post it here too:
Hi, I've been lurking around the forum for a week or so and finally got up the courage to introduce myself. I've been smoking a pipe for a few years now but only once a month or so if my wife was away. She's starting a new traveling role for work in April, so I'm looking forward to be able to smoke two or three bowls a week now and really try out some different types of tobacco. I still smoke a cigar every once in a while and have a small humidor - In some situations they just work better than pipes, but I think I'll always be more of a pipe person than cigars. |

Re: Pipe Forum: new members (introduce yourself)
Hey all!
I just started smoking a pipe a few weeks ago. I smoked a few cigars with friends over the summer. One of those friends started smoking a pipe over the summer too, and he was telling me about it over Christmas break. It sounded cool, so I figured what the heck I'll give it a try. I love it! I've only smoked from a corn cob, but I got a briar the other day, and will probably start breaking it in over the weekend. I'm a complete noob to pipe smoking, but have already learned a lot from reading posts on this forum. Looking forward to learning more about pipes and pipe tobacco |

Re: Pipe Forum: new members (introduce yourself)
Hey all!
I joined the site a week or so back and have been trying to absorb as much info as I can. In the short time I've been here I've learned so much! So, a bit about me. I'm 33, married and live just outside Vancouver, BC. My foray into the pipe world began several years back when I bought an Aragorn Lord of the Rings pipe from a German company named Vauen. I bought the pipe to add to my LOTR display, but having had a grandfather that was a big pipe smoker, my curiosity soon got the better of me! With not many tobacco shops close by, I mostly stuck with smoking various Amphora blends that I could pick up close by. Only smoking a few times a month, these suited me fine. But now my interest in pipe smoking has increased and these tobaccos just don't cut it for me anymore. A fellow pipe smoker recommended that I try out Frog Morton. So I found a tobacconist in Vancouver and paid them a visit to pick some up. I cleaned my pipe and loaded some FM. I was hooked, I really enjoy the stuff! But having enjoyed aromatics, I decided to head back to the tobacco shop and pick up a second pipe to smoke aromatics out of. I picked up an inexpensive Lorenzo Spitfire bent and some house blend cavendishes to add to my slowly growing collection. So, that's a bit about me. I'm still a total noob to this whole thing and really appreciate the wealth of knowledge this forum has to offer. I'm continually learning new things which makes this hobby fun for me. I just wish tobacco prices weren't so expensive up here...there are so many types I want to try out now! Cheers! ![]() |

Re: Pipe Forum: new members (introduce yourself)
Been lurking for a couple of weeks and deceided to join the discussions. There is certainly an abundance of information here.
I have actually been smoking a pipe for 40 years but only the pipes bought in places like Tinder Box and Local shops, same with the tabacco Diving into the new area of tinned tobacco, so many choices so I read all the reviews and decide which might sound interesting to me. Glad I found this place. Don |

Re: Pipe Forum: new members (introduce yourself)
Hello all, just wanted to introduce myself to the pipe forum, as I have been perusing for awhile and am finally about to take the plunge and get a couple of corn cob pipes to try it out. My name is Nick and I've been smoking cigars for four years now, but am intrigued by the pipe. Lots of information here, and I'm looking forward to the new hobby!
Cheers, Nick

Re: Pipe Forum: new members (introduce yourself)
Thanks for the welcomes.
I've recently added a few inexpensive estate briars that I found on ebay to my collection of pipes. Also grabbed two Missouri Meers off ebay as well. I'm looking forward to trying out a cob pipe for the first time! Yup, the wife is hating my renewed interest in the hobby already! lol |
