![]() I'm one of the few guys who enjoy Acid smokes. I only smoke them sporadically though, but their room note is amazing! They're great if you're around people who don't "love" the smell of cigars.

Re: Pipe Forum: new members (introduce yourself)
Hi guys, just getting started with a pipe. I've been enjoying cigars for 10 years now. I'm really overwhelmed with all the types of tobacco out there so I think I'm going to start with a Virgina or maybe a blend with some cherry.

As a cigar smoker, I seriously doubt you'll like cherry pipe tobacco. Quite honestly, I don't think you'll like ANY aromatic (flavored) tobacco. You might prefer something that is a bit more like your Ashton VSG cigars... more robust and flavorful than a cherry blend. Aromatics are soft and sweet but have low nicotine and little ability to rouse the palate of a 10 year cigar vet, IMHO. You might consider the "lowly" Prince Albert as a start. Nice, decent quality burley with no frills. Doesn't taste like a cigar but is more "cigar like". I don't have any of that at the moment but if you PM me, I'll be happy to send you some samples of various pipe tobacco types (virginia, burley, english and ok - an aromatic just so you can see what I'm saying). I'd like to get you off on the right foot and I just don't think a cherry blend is gonna satisfy that discerning palate of yours! ![]() |

To madurolover, azpostal, and others considering to start pipe smoking,
Finding an affordable pipe to start smoking can be a difficult task. Just thought you might be interested in checking out cheapestatepipes.com . They have some good estate pipes at great prices. It can be a good way to start out! Buying estate pipes is also a good way to try different brands and shapes of pipes without investing a lot of money into it. |

Re: Pipe Forum - influx of new members?
And this is exactly how I found this wonderful resource and community.
Hello Everyone! My name is Corey, I've smoked cigarettes on and off for about 3 years. I smoke the occasional cigar (started that in college). Over the past several months I've tried just about every tobacco product I could find: Snus, Oral Snuff, Nasal Snuff, and Pipe Tobacco. Youtube was a great resource in learning some of the basics about pipes/pipe tobacco. I regularly watch and enjoy, dubinthedam and PipeFriendCHS. I purchased a Dr. Grabow Omega from a local cigar shop about 5 months ago (which the bit actually broke today bad luck I hope, because I try to take good care of my things). I recently ordered a Peterson Aran 120. It's a shape that I really like and I hope i will be glad it. I'm partial to english blends so far. I currently have a tin of Peterson's Old Dublin and G.L. Pease's Westminster. Along with my new pipe order I'm expecting some SG 1792 flake and Esoterica Penzance. I've also started bidding on some inexpensive estate pipes on ebay to start a rotation. At least until I know I enjoy this hobby, I don't want to put too much money into it. Anyway, it's nice to be here. |

Re: Pipe Forum: new members (introduce yourself)
Hello everyone,
I just started smoking pipes about 2 months ago. I bought a Yello Bole checker and started with whatever the guy at the shop gave me (1Q turns out). got married in june and went to Gatlinburg, TN for honeymoon, so I had to stop in at the Gatlinburlier to grab a country gentlemen cob, and a sampler. I love all the blends i got, but mountain mall mix is my fav of the pack. I've smoked cigars for about three years, but could never find what i was looking for. pipes are much better IMO. I've been lurking for a while to learn the basics and feel it's time to come out of the shadows. |

Re: Pipe Forum: new members (introduce yourself)
Hello all, been smoking pies on and off since I was 15 but as of the past few months it has been my nicotine delivery system of choice. Started with some old Falcons in the beginning as my gramps used to work for the company. Was smoking just meers for a while but discovered that they can't compare to that warm comforting sweet nuttiness you get from a lovely engineered briar.
