Sandbox Survival?

Question:

Next week I'm to return to the sandbox but for only a short period (~6 weeks) this time.

I've bought my tobacco (bulk in 2 oz bags and 50g tins) and found some plastics mason-type jars to store them in. I've got three burnt cobs and three fresh cobs to smoke, pipe cleaners galore, and my ubiquitous tamper. What am I forgetting?

Thanks.

LOL!!!

That would definitely be a royal pain in the sitter. Being that the compounds and nearly every building on them are controlled/operated by U.S. military, you'll have a hard time with a hat that can't be shoved in a cargo pocket or in the waistband. It would prove just too much of a hassle, especially at the chowhalls. I don't wear any hats when there.

One thing I don't miss about the army is my cargo pocket swinging on my leg and bumping everyone with it as I walk by. Anyway, you'll be happy to know that many fedoras are crushable Take care over there in the dustbox

My tip would be one of those small baby bottles of bourbon or whiskey to keep those cobs tasting real sweet...and you can drink the last slug on the flight home.

One of the quickest way to be told to leave Iraq is possessing alcohol. General order number 1 and all

Didn't know the score on the dreaded %, always wondered what the grey ruling was on this, that said during desert storm I had a colleague have himself posted to a postal job so he could have his personal weapons (mainly combat shotguns) delivered to himself..this is not a "bullshit" story, last I heard he is a magistrate. My point...don't discuss your military "experiences" online in pipe clubs, or anywhere else...don't mean to get all drill like. But it's good advice. Come home safe my friend.

Not to threadjack this but from watching many reruns of MASH I assumed that alcohol was acceptable in the military. Also my grandpa was in the national guard and told stories about bartending at the officers club. I guess times have changed? If someone could clarify this I'd appreciate it.
Oh and thank you for what you're doing over there in Iraq. Your work is greatly appreciated.
