Re: Rattray's Question

Not that I'm aware of off the top of my head. Thanks for making me need to go find out and then needing to buy something else though.

On Edit: Well, I went and looked and it doesn't appear that they have a Va/Per. Your not completely off the hook though, because I was reminded that I want to try the Brown Clunlee and Black Virginia blends from Rattray's.

I tried reading a lot of them but most of them don't describe what is actually in the blend.

Re: Rattray's Question

I do not know of a Rattray's blend that has Perique. I have added (and then let sit to age) some Perique to Marlin Flake and Old Gowrie - both blends of which no more remains.

I really like the Marlin Flake with some Perique, very tasty. The Old Gowrie is good as well, but it is a richer VA and I like it just by itself.

Re: Rattray's Question

That's a great idea!! I'll have to grab some blending Perique next time I hit the shop and add it to some of the Marlin Flake that I have sitting around. Do you remember the amounts?

Re: Rattray's Question

while "rattrays" doesn't have a Va/Per, the people who make rattrays blends also make McConnells Scottish Cake.

sooo... close enough. it's like an infinity or Nissan; or lexus/toyata...

About 5%. I wouldn't do any more than that to start. If you can press it together in some way, it melds quicker.
