My First Pipe...a Boswell

A big hello to all on this side of CS. After hanging out on the other side of our wonderful site, I though it was about time to start exploring around the rest. If one hangs out too long on the other side, the slope starts to decend quite a bit, and thinking that "balance" is an important factor in ones life (which I'm sure everyone here can agree on), it only became clear that balance would only be achieved by purchasing my first pipe. This came from the good folks at J.M. Boswells along with a pouch of "Boswells Best" and "Boswells Premium Burley". So, here it is:

and, since I've been stealthing on this side for awhile, appears to be quite a number of good Gorillas here too. Enjoy your day...

Nice first pipe. It has thick walls and looks like it's been around a hundred years. No doubt you got a good one. Start working on that cake.

Re: My First Pipe...a Boswell

I have several Boswells. They are all great smokers and probably the best buy out there!!!

Good first choice. Boswells are fine pipes and a great value.

Great looking pipe; I really like the looks of that one. I've heard a lot of good things about Boswells.

Nice looking pipe. I like how the rusticated comes out of the polished smooth wood. It's almost as if the pipe maker was saying, "behind the polished finish there's something very raw and natural trying to get out". I like it

Re: My First Pipe...a Boswell

Great looking pipe! From my experience with them and all the word of mouth I have read, they are great smokers and very affordable. I love my '07 Boswell that Doyle gifted me. It's a little big for smoking on the go, but perfect for sitting back relaxing with a bowl.

Thanks SM (and thanks to all that have reviewed) and I'm working on that cake. Packed the pipe this morning with some Boswells Premium Burley which turned out to be a very pleasant and mild (maybe bordering on the edge of medium) smoke. Pre-light, the blend has a lite sweetness and caramel aroma to it. Upon lighting, velvet smoke with mild nutty sweet aroma from start to finish. Had to perform a number of relights but I'm very sure due to my lack of proper packing of the bowl. Nice blend...

Thank you. Getting it broken-in at this time. Has a nice draw to it. A very affordable pipe at $49.00 + shipping from Boswells...
