Bummer

Got home from work early today, took a few hours off for my birthday today. So I get home and decide to fire up something special to celebrate.

Pull out an old tin of Cope's Escudo from the 1970's, a 100 gram tin. Pop the tin, no vacuum. Uh-oh, bad sign.
Open the tin, and it's bone dry! Man, I am bummed.

So I reach for another rare tin, John Cotton's #1 Mild. Now this stuff is really rare, much harder to find than Cotton's #2 Medium.
Fill up a Bang Pot, fire it up, and...........it's "ok". What a let down. Good smoke, nice light chocolate flavor, but I definitely did not get a woody over this blend.
So I finish that off, and decide to go to a regular favorite, Scottish Three Nuns.

I pull out a special pipe that has remained unsmoked in my collection, a Balleby "00" Grade bent Rhodesian. Absolute beauty! I fill that up half way and fire it up...................it's just "ok" again!
The Three Nuns didn't shine probably as a result of breaking in a new bowl.

Sometimes I think I should just go back to smoking my $hitty old cigars!

Sorry to hear that, Bruce. Kind of a letdown on your b'day, for sure.
But I bet one of your $hitty old cigars would change that.

Re: Bummer

if at first you don't succeed, Bruce...
I think you may be able to use persistence to your benefit.

Have a great Birthday, Sir.
