Hey all,
Well, I popped the top today on the 50g tin of blackwood Flake I ordered. My tin was dated 05 and I figured what the hell time to let it see the light of day. The tobacco was still fairly moist and it smelled delicious when opened....slightly fermented sweetness was fantastic. I closed the tin with the plastic lid and set it aside until I returned from work this evening, took out a bowlful of the broken flakes, rubbed most of it out a little and left it to dry a bit until I had finished dinner. When I got back I loaded up the Bjarne with the lightly rubbed out flakes but I still had some nice chunks in there, which is the same way I prefer to smoke McClelland 2015 btw.
I lit it up tamped and relit, then settled down on the couch to catch up on some DVRed TV I had missed.
WoW... This was a very smooth sweet and completely satisfying smoke. It never bit my tongue at all and was almost an intoxicating 2 hour experience. It wasn't what I expected really...no harshness at all just consistant sweet bliss.
This was my first smoke of pure virginia, I am a big fan of va/pers,2015, scottish cake etc. This was similar but seemed to be a fuller flavor.
Just wanted to pass along my thoughts on what I believe is an absolutely fantastic smoke.
Highly recommended.
