I'm on Fire.....Literally!!
I know that this isn't a pipe story but I just had to share this with you guys. Was going to post it in the cigar forum but didn't know if everyone here checked that or not.

So I'm sitting out on my back porch with my laptop working on some stuff that's due tomorrow. I'm also happen to be smoking my first cigar since my pipe obsession took over. It was a Torano Noventa Santiago that was a gift from a buddy of mine (thanks again).

I was working furiously away when I noticed some heat in my crotchal, near "the boys" area. Well I look down and notice that my jeans are on fire!! Apparently a hot ash fell down in my lap and smoldered until it caught fire. I didn't notice it smoking because I was smoking!! I now have a hole in my jeans with a great story and "the boys" were undamaged.

I wish you guys could have seen me jumping around trying to put it out without slapping myself too hard down there.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm eagerly awaiting a witty comeback from EvanS.

Not me. I always keep a cold cup of coffee handy when smoking a cigar, though.

Did you do that mini-triathalon in wimington a few weeks back? I was down there for the Coastal Living Expo at the college and there were bicycles everywhere.

No, unfortunately I'm recovering from a stress fracture in my foot and have to cancel some of my early season races. I was working at that race though. My wife raced it and got 1st in her age group.

Not a big fan of the short, quick races anymore. They hurt too much. Give me a half Ironman or a full Ironman any day.

All I have to say is, that would have never happened with a pipe! (at least it would be a lot harder).

happened to me too years ago-nodded out, dropped the cigar in my lap & in my 1/2 asleep state couldn't figure out why that area was hot-by the time i figured it out there was a hole the size of a softball in the crotch of my pants
