I need the forums assistance!
Alright guys I need your help. After I finish off my navy flake I have purchased 5 tins as some of you know. The problem is I don't know which one I should smoke first! Opening all at once and trying each one is out of the question so if you had to pick just one of these tins which one would it be!? Now I know some of you might suggest going and reading on tobaccoreviews.com but then theres no fun in getting a surprise! So if you were stuck in my shoes, which one would you do !

Re: I need the forums assistance!
Irish Whiskey....Just opened my first tin two days ago.....strong and sweet. If your not in the mood for a sweet smoke, and more in the savory mood I would say Irish Oak.
That said, I feel Old Dublin is a much underrated Latakia and Lux Blend should be a nice aromatic, although I still have to try it. Last edited by DubintheDam; 05-02-2008 at 03:25 AM.. |

I voted for Irish whiskey. It sounds interesting.

I voted Irish Oak. It's the only one of the above that I've tried

Re: I need the forums assistance!
macbaren latakia contains very little latakia. it has a nice sweet va base that really ages well. it isn't strong in the nicotene department, but it will torch your tongue if you puff too often.

Re: I need the forums assistance!
Irish Whiskey is not a heavily cased aromatic, it's leaves are quite dark, I would say if you already have an aromatic open, go with the Irish Oak, I didn't like it myself (IO)...I found it too much like cigarettes, that said you definitely can taste the sherry/grape from the barrels. The perique in the blend is also quite soft. I'm really happy with the Irish Whiskey, I'd heard some good reviews about it...and for me it fits with its Irish name.
Irish Oak really is all out on it's own...there's nothing else I've tasted like it, the closest is Old Joe Krantz and even that is very different. Best of luck...they're both good. |

Re: I need the forums assistance!
Alright guys tonight I'm picking up another tin of irish oak in celebration of how my two court dates went! I want to leave the 5 tins I got for storage and let them sit for a few months. I have them still in the tins and none of the tins are opened, how long will the tobacco stay fresh in those tins if the tins are not tampered with or opened?

How long really depends on storage conditions. In a cool dry place unopened tins should last you decades. |

Re: I need the forums assistance!
I say smoke the Old Dublin, it's good stuff. Just don't dry it out too much, cause then it's a wicked fast smoke. I packed a bowl last night and was done in 10 mins or less cause it was a lil too dry.
