Re: Bobs Chocolate flake
I've not tried Bob's from G&H, but the Samuel Gawith Chocolate Flake is awesome IMO. I would assume they are somewhat similar, but I'm sure someone who's tried both will chime in....Evan?

I think that they are both great in their own ways.

Re: Bobs Chocolate flake
Bob's chocolate flake and SG chocolate flake are very different from each other. Bob's chocolate, I think, contains more latakia than SG's flake. The chocolate flavouring in Bob's flake is stronger and can overwhelm (akin to eating too many brownies). SG's flake is a solid virginia with some subtle chocolate in the background (this is my favorite baccy thus far).

Re: Bobs Chocolate flake
The SG's Chocolate flake is excellent stuff... I haven't tried the Bob's yet but I will at some point.

Re: Bobs Chocolate flake
Can I also recommend GH Louisiana Perique? Similar to Bob's chocolate, except it's a vaper...mmm...chocolate vaper
![]() I just finished a sample I had left myself before jaring the rest. It satisfied my sweet tooth. All the flavours meld nicely into/with each other. |

Re: Bobs Chocolate flake
Kendal is the the city that Samuel Gawith and Gawith & Hoggarth operate out of. They are in the lakeland district and their tobaccos are sometimes referred to as lakelands. Lakelands are infamous in that some refer to them as having a 'soapy' taste.

Re: Bobs Chocolate flake
There is Bob's Chocolate Flake - a Gawith & Hoggarth product. Samuel Gawith Chocolate Flake is called just that.
Both are excellent in their own right. I'd say that the G&H blend has a bit more Latakia, but not by much. In both, it is very lightly applied. Try both. Or, try one. For a while, I was on a G&H BCF kick, smoked nothing else.

GH Louisiana Flake is good stuff. You can't go wrong with either one of the Chocolate Flakes, both yummy.
