Tupperware for basic Storage?

Wanted to get some feedback on using regular Tupperware for basic storage needs. I don't plan on aging the tobacco, but I do plan on ordering a large quantity to be smoked, over a period of time. What experience does everyone have using Tupperware? Or would I just be better off getting some mason jars.

I don't see why it would change anything. I say go ahead and give her a go, no need to clutter yourself up with mason jars if you've got something that'll do the trick already.

Re: Tupperware for basic Storage?

The problem I see with tupperware is it won't keep the tobacco from getting air penetration like a mason jar will and plus tupperware won't save that much space. Say you put some baccy in tupperware and forget about it then 6 months later you'll probably have some really dry baccy. I use mason jars because they are pretty practical and make the most sense for me. My .02.

I have used lock'n'lock containers for a couple years now and they seem to hold moisture content very well.

Re: Tupperware for basic Storage?

Read alot about success using tupperware containers to store open tins. I'm not sure about storage of bulk tobacco, perhaps in ziplock bags placed in the container will work better. I use the screw lid ZipLoc containers as well as the mason jars and both seem to be working fine.

You can also get versions of these fairly cheap and they come in pretty big sizes.

I have used several pieces of tupperware with great success. The rh is rock steady and I don't even use any humidification......for two years!

I have been using these bad boys...

So far so good. They seal the tobacco airtight. I highly recommend using them. Check out Ebay. You can get some great deals on these things.
