Tin question - Reiner LGF aka Blend 71?

I just got this in, the tin looks different from the screen shots on the vendor site (and from other descriptions I've read here and elsewhere). Its a gold tin with just BLEND 71 printed on it - no long, no gold and definitely no flake. Is this a new tin design, or old tin design?

And I wish more blenders would put date codes on their tins!

(Deep breath.... long pause...) LGF and #71 seem one in the same to me, 'Puffs.

You've had plenty of time to think on this subject. Whattya think? Whatever it is, it's now a year old than when you posted the inquiry.

Jeepers - 71 or LGF, it's good stuff, ain't it?

Ooh yeah! I have about 5lbs of tins cellared, the 1 year old puppy currently being ignited has improved dramatically.

When young, this one tends to be a little nippy and overbearing - after some rest, the burley balances the figgyness of the perique just perfectly. Fold 'n stuff, and it burns slow and cool.

I didn't expect your reply until July 2010.

Concur. A little age and a little drying out makes a sweet, great smoke. Their tin seals more airtight than anything else I know, by the way. It really holds a moisture level after it's opened and resealed. Hell of a tin... hell of a tin, yessirree Bob.
