Tell me, if Santa was to include coffee in your little modest package (what do you get for a guy that is one of the most experienced pipe smokers in these parts?) would you drink it?

Dear Secret Pipe Santa,

I have found that caffine of any kind is an appropriate gift.
Hell yes!!!

Thank you,

Re: madurofan

I thought you should know that Santa will be out of town for a little bit. Yes it all happens in one night but he needs a little down time afterwards with Mrs. Claus if you know what I mean. So before I head out for the big night I wanted to make sure you know that yours is coming.

DC# 0103 8555 7496 4149 9147

And Santa always says...watch out for that coffee, it'll give you mud-butt.

Now where the hell has that gin drinking reindeer gone off to again....

Re: madurofan

Wow, Santa covered all the vices. 3 different tobacco blends: Renaissance, Lord Nelson, and Lord Raven. A caffine bean loaded brown bag labelled "Hair Bender Blend". And a bottle of Hair Dog Barley wine. Woo Hoo! Santa definitly read my wish list. Now I just have to figure out who his elf is in Oregon. I'm a thinking it might a be IHT? Thanks to all the Santa's out there and a Happy New Year to all.

Re: madurofan

Well, after a little more research I discovered that FunkyPorcini is from way up high on the left coast. I think there might have been some suspicious mail from up that way.

DING DING DING!!!

I guess I didn't make it too hard on ya. I hope you like the stuff. The Lord Nelson is a cigar tobacco blend and I'm sure you can figure out the others. Will you tell me what you think?

I'll be happy to post reviews for all three. Lord Nelson coming up in a few minutes.

Re: madurofan

Lord Nelson Review:

Pouch Aroma and appearance: Very dark tobacco, a little on the moist side. Very heavy Latakia aroma

Packing and Pre-light: Packs OK, good cut. Slightly sweet taste on the draw. Smoking in a little meer I keep for tobacco tasting.

Light and first impression: Lights a little hard. Three prelights and tamps before it settles down. Mmmm!!! Heavy latakia and a touch of sweetness. Similar flavor to Old Ironsides.

About half bowl: Very consistant burn, very consistant taste. Still very heavy on the latakia. The ash is fairly dark and just a little coarse. Smoking nice and cool.

About three quarters: Burn is still nice. Flavor is very consistant right through, not much change.

Nearly finished: Stayed nice and dry all the way down. The latakia backed off just a hint towards the end and the smoke picked up a much heavier feel towards the bottom. Overall, a nice excursion in to the land of heavy latakia. Very nice smoke to end the day with. Thanks Funkyporcini, Look foward to trying the other two.

Hmm, maybe the Nelson wasn't the cigar tobacco one.
