I get a sandpaper tounge after smoking my 965 tobacco, is that a known problem with this sort of tobacco.

Last nite I tried the 965 in a corn cob, and it was a totally different smoke compared to my Hilson, that i must say Im starting to see as a problem child, even now after Ive drilled out the channel to 4mm and funeld the missaligned hole in the stem!

Not to me. I find 965, like most english blends, quite tame and non-threatening. Since the cob smoked well with it, perhaps the Hilson is waiting for a little more cake and/or a slightly slower and/or slightly drier smoke?
