My review of Oust

Dump the ashtray (of course) and a liberal spraying of Oust and all hints of the pipe having been smoked are gone. While febreeze works well enough to get rid of most of it, it usually takes a second spraying to finish the job. Straight lysol gives me the same results. The candles do a decent job but you have to let them run for hours and hours and you can still smell it a little the next day.

I have been running an experiment by not telling my wife which days I have smoked in my study and then asking her much later if she could tell. She hasn't been able to figure it out even once.

I spray my study and some outside the door to be carried to the same places the pipe smoke might have gone.

Amen on the Oust. It saved me many times in the dorms when I had a drink or had anything in the room.. damn RA's could smell anything from a mile away unless you sprayed a little oust.

Re: My review of Oust

I figured a thread like this might help some of the new pipe smokers stay in the house.

I used to get a huge tobacco candle that knocked even cigars out of the house but the company that made them went out of business. And now that the last of the ones I had are gone I have been experimenting with new odor removal systems.

The candles with the dots don't work at all. The spice ones I have gotten from CI work a little but you have to burn them for hours and hours.

Febreeze works with multiple applications.

Lysol also works with multiple applications and HEAVY application.

Straight room fragrances like glade and company whether from a can or plugged into a wall do not work at all.

Dumping your ashes into a closed container after they have cooled will diminish the work needed to freshen the room by a huge factor.

Ok I will order some of that. I'd like to find something that clears the den faster of cigar. I haven't tried the oust yet.
