Take the stem off, and there's a thing stuck in there that looks like a cigarette filter. They come in the corncob pipes, and they're good for a couple bowls at the most, and aren't really necessary or beneficial for any reason at all.

The water pipe was actually used for tobacco before the hippies ruined it. The point was to cool the smoke, so no tounge bite.

I don't suggest using tin foil, it will heat up and prob sour the tobacco. maybe try a apple to smoke from. It works in 40 year old virgin. Good Luck!

next time, cut the screen out of your kitchen faucet and put a hole in the top of the cap. that will eliminate the "sour" taste from the foil. (hey, I DID attend college for 6 months).
