I rub out flakes and let it dry. Then I fill my pipe. I have never had much luck with the fold method.

I always rub the flake out really well, and have had good success with it. I've never tried the fold method though, I've heard it takes some practice

Folding flakes is really the only way to go if your smoking outdoors on a windy day....I guess that's why you get so many Navy Flakes.

Go to McBaren.com and see the how to fill with flake.. its a very good guide (folding it, not rubbing or packing)
