Ordered my first Boswell
You guys have changed my life! Just a few months ago, I was buying my first pipe and discovering this forum. Since, I have spent quite a bit of money on different tobaccos, and now find myself NEEDING another pipe. I mean, how can a man survive with just one pipe? So, I told my wife about you guys (ya, I know it was risky), and explained how much I needed another pipe. I said that the Boswells were getting rave reviews, and she agreed that it would make me a nice Christmas gift. So I ordered one at her request! The element of surprise is gone for Christmas morning, but I am getting one heck of a gift... Now, I need to convince her that I need even more than two pipes!

Re: Ordered my first Boswell
Merry Christmas! We don't exchange gifts here so we just buy our own Christmas presents and I am getting most of my shopping done early. I'll save about $300 for december but all the rest of it has been spent.
You really do need more than 2 pipes. You may want to get a few cobs to fill the gaps until you can buy more of what you want. So how many do you need? I like the 3 day on 3 day off schedule. If you smoke more than 1 bowl a day I think you should have 2 pipes that you alternate between bowls. So ideally you would have 4 pipes per type of tobacco you might smoke multiple times a day multiple days in a row. Do all of your experimenting in cobs until you know it is worth buying additional pipes. I do not have different rules for my meers. Since my collection is mostly briars I treat all of them the same with the excecption of cob pipes.

Re: Ordered my first Boswell
This is the type of Boswell I ordered. As you know, no two are the same, but I expect it will be somewhat close

Re: Ordered my first Boswell
That picture scared me for a moment because it looked like that block of wood was part of the pipe. I was scrambling trying to think of something not unpleasant to say. It was going to be something like well it should burn cool (while muttering to myself "for a brick").
Nice looking pipe.
