Beings she is a good sport about it, I normally smoke a pipe inside, not a cigar.

Thanks again for reminding me that I picked the right one.
I was thinking along those same lines when I started reading the thread. With the cooler weather coming on I feel lucky that my girlfriend appreciates pipe smoking indoors. Smoking on cold windy days is best done inside on a comfy chair

agreed, but I'll have to get my wife plently drugged to ever convince her to let me smoke inside

I stayed in a hotel on a busy trip recently...I got a smoking room...I was amazed they still do smoking rooms in hotels. It was a joy to smoke a pipe before I went to bed. But otherwise I think it's unfair to smoke indoors if your partner doesn't smoke...plus your apartment doesn't stink.

For everything except heavy english and a few virginias she encourages me to smoke my pipe inside. She will talk me into it if I am on the fence.

For the things she doesn't find pleasant I just smoke those in my den.

Interestingly, there are quite a few blends that are not aromatics that my wife says smell nice. I have heard her tell other people that she likes the smell of the pipe with most of the tobaccos I smoke.

She would much prefer I sat in my chair and spend the evening with her smoking my pipe rather than going outside to smoke the pipe.

Re: wind

Anything new I get goes for inspection and is rated on whether or not she wants to be around. I can smoke anything I want while I work but it is better to do it in the morning so the house has plenty of time to recover before she comes home.

It doesn't matter what I do in the den but my office is in a bedroom upstairs and the den is in the basement so I try to take her wishes into consideration when she is around.

Like you though she does not restrict me to aromatics. She likes the aroma of quite a bit and is neutral on others. The ones that pass inspection are permitted anywhere in the house except our bedroom.

Re: wind

I have covered patios on opposite sides of the house,
so one of them is out of the wind.

But when the temperature is below 80 or so
I pop in the window fan and smoke at my desk.

...or ya could get a tent.

Re: wind

I started off thinking this was a thread about gas.

Windcaps. See, I learned something new today.

As the Supreme Commander and Absolute Ruler of my household I smoke my pipe indoors whenever I please. If the other half complains I turn off my hearing aide. From that point on I can't help but feel flattered as it appears she's gesturing to me that I'm Number One!

Re: wind

My post above was done tongue-in-cheek if you couldn't tell... hehe

Actually my wife smokes cigs and doesnt mind the pipe at all thank heavens so we have no issues here. I'd be horrified at the idea of not being able to smoke in my recliner while watching an old movie or while at the computer here.

PS: And I actually dont have a hearing aide either (not yet at least!)...
