since light & moisture are the main things that cause oxidation, the inside is probably ok-other than soaking it in some type of solution (don't care for the idea personally, something just doesn't seem right about putting a stem into something that causes oxidation to get rid of it?) the only other way i know of is to take a pipe cleaner, rub brown tripoli on it, chuck it into a drill & spin the cleaner inside the stem working it in & out-you'd have to follow that w/an alcohol soaked cleaner to get the trip out

Broke one of them in last night and it was love @ first smoke
![]() Beside the unsmoked briar taste it had kinda of a musty taste but being a 20 year old pipe I kinda took this as normal. It could of also been in all in mind as well - who knows. I am thinking it will be fine once a nice cake is built up. Thanks again! |
