BCA - *sigh*, now i can't hate you Lane...

This might be more appropriate in the review section, but it's not really a review as much as it is a confession.

After trying a number of Lane's blends, I was not impressed whatsoever. I've given Hazelnut, Cherry, 1-Q, Captain Black Gold, and BCA a try... and hated all of them save BCA (and MAYBE Cpt. Blk). I have some jarred up in my collection and i decided to give it ago one night when we had a bunch of people over to gather around my roommates new firepit (booyah). I failed to remember how much of a light it and forget smoke it was. I didn't have to concentrate on anything and i enjoyed it.

About a week later, i pulled it out again... this time w/ focus and concentration in mind. What can I say? This is simply good stuff. Probably my favorite blend right now next to Matured Ribbon or Anniv. Kake (may take precedent over them actually).

So here's my confession: I'm kinda ashamed to like a Lane blend. It's like i had to come to grips with what I was smoking and how it was actually Lane Limited and not another "quality" brand. But hey, i can't argue w/ the taste of this tobacco, it's delicious. EAT IT UP

nothing wrong with that, lane blends are the top selling blends in the US.. there doing something right.

Why be ashamed? Its all about enjoying your smoke. If you enjoy it, then thats all that counts. Like has already been said, Lane sells a lot of tobacco, so you're sure not the only one who likes it.

We sell more Lane blends than anything else at the shop. For a nice light smoke, try HS-3.

It's the first impression as a newb that i've obtained for them (so it's subject to change for sure). From all the reviews i've read and the blends i've tried, it's been communicated to me as a cheap leaf. But again, they got bca SPOT on in my opinion so they did it right. I just wish all the rest of their blends could live up to it. To each his own i guess, that's my

I wish I liked lanes blends, cause then smoking the pipe be even cheaper for me. lol, for me,they are mediocre and I smoke them rarely. But if you like them, all the power to you.

About 5 years ago I purchased a bag of Smokers Pride Black Cavendish which is made by Lane. I smoked a couple of bowls,it was ok nothing special. I put it away and pretty much forgot about it. A couple of months ago while going through my tobacco inventory I found it and tried it again. It wasn't half bad in fact it was pretty good. A very nice mild aromatic.
