McClelland Virginians... which do you like?

I'm in the market and plan on stocking up on a number of Virginians for my next purchase. I've been guided towards McClellands tobaccos due to their ratings and popularity. So far the few that have caught my attention are:

No. 22
No. 24
No. 25
No. 27
Blackwoods
2015 Virginian Flake
Darkstar

So yeah, recommend me some good, quality Virginians I'd like to try a number of flakes that I can use the fold and fill method on (just looks like fun).

(I kinda already started a topic on this but i'm trying to narrow it down some so if you have suggestions outside of McClelland, don't be afraid to speak up)

Mcclelland makes excellent virginias no doubt. That being said I can't say I've ever tried any of the ones you mentioned with the exception of 2015. I must admit I was not surprised by that particular blend. I though 2015 was flat and was in dire need of some flavour. I really liked 2010 and 5100 for straight virginias. Also 2035 is super yummy, but a little hard to work with.

Edit: Since you'd like something outside of McC's I'll make one: Samuel Gawith Best Brown Flake.

The # Virginias are kinda one dimensional to me. I do like 2015 and 5100(keep it on hand always). Also may look into Blackwoods Flake.

I've heard 2035 is the bulk version to Dark Star. Can anyone confirm this? Are they at least similar?

Ive heard that Dark Star is slightly sweeter and possibly more aged. And by 'heard' I mean read on tobaccoreviews.com.

I like the McCle-tchup Virginia Woods. I stumbled upon a stash of 2+ year aged stock, it ages well

Sweet and woodsy, a solid VA that loads/burns/tastes great!

I'll throw in a plug for Dark Star as well!

I enjoyed the 2035 bulk, but for me, it's just too difficult to keep lit!

I like their Navy Cavendish but for straight virginias my favorite is Rattray's Old Gowrie. That said, the Mc #24 is very nice. I haven't tried the Blackwoods Flake but I have a tin of it waiting in line!

I still have a tin of the 1995 CC but I'm a little surprised at that because I recall being a little bored with it when it was current. What year is your favorite?
