Has my cob gone bad?

I have a cob that lately just tastes awful to smoke. It's been my favorite so far. Lately though it just smells kinda sour and if I smoke it it ruins the flavor of the tobacco. I smoke aromatics out of it only and am still kinda new so I smoke it kinda hot at times. The sides are a bit cracked as well. I haven't been smoking it for more than 5 months and that's like 3-4 times a week at the most, usually less though. What do you guys think?

Re: Has my cob gone bad?

Personally I would just toss it and grab a new one. Thats the luxury of the cobs in that they are cheap and easy to replace.

It's just dirtay. You could just clean it out with some alcohol and and pipe cleaners to see if that helps, but if I were you I'd just buy a new one.

Re: Has my cob gone bad?

If you really want to save it, try the salt/alcohol treatment and then maybe some pipe sweetener. For the cost though, a cob is easily replaced, unless it's some sort of special made.
