Kinda the same here. I have so many tobaccos open right now that even something that I've really been wanting to try gets cellared.

I usually have about a 1-5 ratio going. I have one aged/vintage tin open for evey five recent production. I try to keep the interesting stuff for special times or times when I now I will have plenty of time to savor it.

Re: Rare tobaccos

I smoke it. I have only found one old tin, that was a Rattrays Black Mallory. I smoked it in the car on the way home I collect several different kinds of antiques. And I use them all, nothing get's set back on a shelf. I have the same view with my tobacco collection,

I got caught up in "collecting cigars" not again.... I dont need any tobacco sitting around for collecting purposes.. IMO Thiers enough regular production tobacco around that I still want to try that I dont need to pay the "vintage or Limited prices"

This "hobby", more a lifestyle, is really taking care of my wallet these days. Im spending way to much on murray/lane limited baccy. Im seriously considdering giving myself a 3 month "no buy" period soon

Re: Rare tobaccos

hmmm.....as a newb I don't think I will even go down the path of the vintage. I have enough material collections, I could never see myself collecting a perishible like tobacco. As stated above there are so many new production blends to try I have barely scratched the surface. I keep a great cigar aging in the humidor for 1-2 years top waiting for a special occassion.

Now pipes I can see that becoming a problem

A big deal with it for me is to have tins without the ugly warning on it. I hate it. The upside is the super nice tobacco in them

That's an interesting idea. I think I'll try that with the next tin I open, but that might not be for a while I have so many open ones already.
