Altadis Match Pipe Tobacco Dunhill Nightcap

Ok, I'm a total newbie, but is this stuff awful? I got a tin of the real stuff and this Altadis Match Dunhill Nightcap. I couldn't smoke this down I had to do at least 6 relights before getting half way through the bowl. I thought maybe it was my cob so I tried it with an old briar I just cleaned and had the same problem, also for the first time in my life as a smoker I've aquired tounge bite.

The real Dunhill stuff outta the tin smoked beautifully yesterday and I spent an hour enjoying it slowly.

I was thinking about putting this stuff up in the trade forum, but I almost feel I got a bad batch or something.

I can't speak for the Altadis specifically, but I know the actual Dunhill Nightcap smokes a little wet right out of the tin. I let it sit for a good two weeks and there was marked improvement. Maybe a couple of weeks rest and some drying out of the Altadis would help?

IMO anything Atladis does trying to match other blends, is a poor poor failure.

Altadis blends just aren't great. I won't trash them too bad because I do like Count Pulaski and others in here are fans. But I'm not surprised you're having trouble.
