New Escudo Labeling

You saw it here third. New label and old label. On the frontside label I notice the label is not centered (never noticed this happen before) and the copy on the back speaks for itself.

JR/Selma, NC, had one tin of Escudo and nothing marked "Dunhill" in stock yesterday.

Re: New Escudo Labeling

I just picked up a tin of this last week (new label). I've really enjoyed it. How well do you like this tobacco? (Well enough to buy more than one tine, I suppose. )

Living in fear that Escudo will be altered or discontinued I aquired 50-60 tins over the past few years. I guess I like it alright.

Re: New Escudo Labeling

Picked up my first tin of Escudo today, then I read this post. Great timing or what? Can't wait to try it. It must be some pretty good stuff from what I just read.

Re: New Escudo Labeling

Does anyone have details on when the lable changes occurred? Would be good to note here for reference!

Also, does anyone know the date that the tins changed from painted to stickered? Did the painted tins stop in 1994 at the end of Gallaher production and the stickers begin in 1997 at the beginning of A&C Peterson production?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Re: New Escudo Labeling

Has anyone smoked from the new tin AND has tried the prior incarnation? I have oh, 50 I think, old escudos and several of the newer labeled creatures. Based on my estimates of smoking older stock first, I should reach the new label stock around ... hmmmm ... 3 carry the 1 ... in May of 2013. Can we say OVERSTOCKED?

I will relieve you of the problemo at FMV, 'Puffs. I cannot bear another day of knowing you are suffering from (ack!) Escudo overload. I am here for you, 'bro. You can count on me 74%, 36% of the time.

So...does the new label and new distributer
mean continued availability?

This has been a matter of discussion for the past year. It has turned into lightswitch tobak. It's on. Off. On. Off. New blender. Not new blender. Discontinued (oh puh-leeze). Not discontinued. There have been definite sounding pronouncements from people in the know vis-a-vis Escudo and Dunhill brands but, to me, all that matters is still unclear.
