Question on an Estate Radice pipes value?

How much should one expect to pay for a great condition used Radice pipe that originally sold for around the $175-$225 range when new?

These pipes are way out of my league currently, but I stumbled onto one that has caught my attention and I am trying to see if it's overpriced or not. Christmas is right around the corner! Since this price range is quite well beyond anything I have looked at, I was not sure about the resale estate value of one.

I appreciate any help you might offer!

Re: Question on an Estate Radice pipes value?

Hello,
I picked up a nice estate Radice from Pulver's Briar for $75. It is a twin bore, oil cured and silk cut. It is a great little pipe. One of my favorites now. He had one with some rim damage from a lighter for $45. Give him a call and see if he has anything. Look on their specials page for some deals. I also picked up that little Peterson Tankard and the Nording Meerschaum. Marty is a great guy to deal with.

Re: Question on an Estate Radice pipes value?

one kinda general rule for estate pipes is Expect the value to be 1/2 of the original sales price. So a 225$ radice would be around 112$ or so.
This is not a exact rule because some of the hign end pipe makers the value is higher on resale.

Thanks for the reccomendation cpk, but this one has already been spotted elsewhere and is kinda specific, don't imagine many of them come up as estates..

And yea sgresso, thats kinda what I thought, atleast half price if not more.. just wanted to confirm!

This is my own selling rule. Now ebay, well that may be another issue. Prices can get crazy over there. Radice is a great brand. Around $120, and not beat to hell, would be a fair price.
