My first non cob pipe

Purchased a bent Abbey briar from a shop in NH. Should this be broke in the same as a cob or is it different?
Dave
Just noticed a tiny tag made in China (hope not made from lead)

Re: My first non cob pipe

I'm new to pipes, but from what I read in the tutorials, break in should be the same.

He told me he felt most decent pipes smoked the same (more or less) and basically the price was for brand name, grain quality and finish quality. Weather or not this is true he wasn't trying to upsell to a higher priced item and that made an impression.

Re: My first non cob pipe

I realize that here is no break in for a cob I have smoked out 6 of them. But I was unaware of the tutorials.
Thanks to all.
