Interest in a new TOM

I am gaging interest in a new Tobacco of the month thread. It seems that some people would like it and participate so before I start it up I want to make sure there are quite a few people who want to participate.

I voted a "we don't care" just to keep it equal. What ever your vote is I would like to hear your opinion. I would just post a new thread on or before the first of the month stating what tobacco we have for the month and some months I may put it to a vote in a poll using 3 or 4 blends and you all can choose by a simple majority what blend we choose.

I think it's a good idea. Often time when I go to the smoke shop I wind up buying a new blend, but I'd like to have an informed decision instead of asking the guy what I'm looking for.

I would also accept PM's where you could request a blend and if I hadn't picked one yet I would add it to consideration.

Sounds like a great idea. I would be interested in having a tobacco choice posted one month in advance to give us time to purchase it online (or not if we choose not to participate that month). Then the following month the EPS could post what we should be looking for when we smoke the tobacco and possibly the size of bowl, etc. that might bring out its characteristics. After that those of us who want to could post our impressions. I'm not sure I'd want to buy the tobacco or have it distributed. I think most tobaccos are readily available and buying 2 oz. wouldn't be a hardship, especially if doing so was optional.

All those caveat notwithstanding, I think it's a great chance for us to learn more about tobacco appreciation. The reviews on Tobaccoreviews.com are helpful but this would be more like a tutorial.

Just to be clear niether me or CS would provide the tobacco I would simply be administrating it's operation. If you wanted to participate you would have to aquire the tobacco for yourself. I would post the specific blend in the week before the month that it is assigned. So for January I would post the blend around the 26 of December.

Quick_nick, is it possible to give a little more lead-time? Maybe a month is too long but one week may be too short. I like to order tobacco online and it may take a little longer than a week.

Yeah I probably could do it a bit earlier. It looks likes there is enough interest to run a test for this month of december. Look to the reviews section for the thread.

I'm anxious for this to start up! Although I'm not a newbie persay, and recently while doing an inventory found that I have 4, soon to be 6 pounds of tobacco, which is about 2 1/2 years worth of pipe smoking, I can't seem to stop getting new tobacco. Seems to me I need to buy a couple more pipes for all the tobacco.

Why didn't anyone warn me of this!
