Received free Altadis pipe tobacco in mail

Don't get me wrong; I'm not complaining about free tobacco!

But I'm not sure why they sent it to me or even how they knew about me since I've never purchased any of their products.

I got a 1.5 oz packet of Blue Note, Irish Creme and some virginia whose name escapes me. Haven't tried 'em yet but I certainly will! Free tobacco is cool! But has anyone else received this??? If so, how do I keep it coming?

Others have recieved free samples from Altadis upon request. I believe its a one time shot. How they got your name and address is anybodies guess. Don't look the proverbal "Gift Horse" in the mouth. Just enjoy the samples.

LOL................ I got three pouches with a tobacco order from somewhere (probably pipesandcigars) a couple years ago and after checking it out threw it right in the trashcan.

LOL - So it's like the old good news/bad news story about the guy who had great seats for the Yankees game that night but unfortunately they weren't playing.

but good Lord stay away from the Irish Cream, Almondine and Maple Syrup something or another.

Good lord Maple Syrup sounds like Ipecac in disguise!
So I take it Altadis is generally disliked among the pipe smokers here? I've never tried it, and from what I've heard here I suppose that's a good thing!

The stuff I had had lots of black cavendish and was tacky as a box of prunes. Couldn't tell if they took tobacco and sprayed a bunch of goop on it or if they took a bunch of goop and made it look like tobacco.

Seriously, I got the same ones, Blue Note, Fox & Hound and Irish Creme. I haven't opened them yet. Reviews indicate they are two-star "crowd pleasers" one step up from Cap'n Black.

Well, the Blue Note was interesting. Probably one of the nicest pouch and room aromas I've ever experienced, along with one of the foulest tastes. Don't think I'm even going to try the Irish Creme after smelling it in the pouch. The Fox & Hound seems promising, though.

I vaguely remembering getting mine through signing up at pipeshow.com. I could be wrong. A quick search on the samples should pull up the source. I've still yet to try the ones I got. Others may throw them away, but I am a paranoid sort that thinks that one day, very soon, I won't be able to buy more tobacco(legally). I'm all about acquiring 2oz for every 1 bowl I smoke. Once I get up to 200 years of smoke I'll stop.

Sadly, It's up to me to feed and house my old lady and the kids so I'm only up to around 5 years.
