I am watching no reservations, and he is in Egypt smoking shisha... which looks straight awesome.

I do not even want to know what the shisha slope looks like... fancy, antique pipes, exotic tobacco products, weird little charcoal, huge clouds of mild smoke... seems like something I would hate.

I remember that episode. Hookah smells insanely good.

Never actually tried it myself though.

I can imagine it is similar to smoking aromatics in a pipe.

I have tried it and found it to be "scaringly" good, in that it was so tasty and easy to inhale. I have not tried it since. My hookah and shisha live at my local cigar club.

I have smoked hookah and I did not like it at all. It's a bucnk of fruity tobacco and reminds me too much of smoking weed. Not my bag of tea at all.

Hookah's the craze now in colleges, so naturally I've tried many a hookah. Not bad, but I prefer a pipe. The hookah flavor can be too overly fruity/flavored, and the hit can be much different.

Since the war started it has become more and more popular. There are hookah bars poping up everywhere. I have tried it and it wasn't too bad. Not something I would do regularly though. I agree that the smell is good, if you have one hookah going but when there is more than one flavor being smoked in a room the smell is horrid. It's really inexpensive to get a full set-up. They can be had for $20 and up.

Hookah is really fun to smoke if you're with a group of friends. It's really easy to smoke and smells and tastes quite good, but it's not nearly the same as smoking a pipe

Bourdain is cool! I especially enjoyed the episode when he was in France. The early morning food market....... good Lord I would never leave. Fresh bread, meats, cheeses. Nevermind wine at 7 am

I got a one for my self for Xmas... Smoked it last night and i too agree that the smoke is very mild and easy to enhale. I am a cigar pipester that just could not resist the slope ... I would have to say that it is a very different thing to pipes and cigars. Never the less it is very nice relaxing way to kill a few hours. .... My

As a college student, i've jumped on the craze wagon somewhat. Not near as much as the pipe, but i've had my share. There's almost no tobacco flavor but it is unexceptionably smooth and can knock you over pretty quick. I like, but it will remain a rare occasion thing, like my cigars.

Yeah smoking a hookah I've done it its like inhaling flavored air no tobacco taste you cant even feel like its smoke. (i would think its like those oxygen bars where you get flavored air to breath HAHAHA) I do know girls like it as girls like fruity things and its seriously like smoking fruit. (what you are actually doing is not really smoking as you are using an indirect heat source. Also its really just flavored molasses with some tobacco (lots of stems too) I think it sucks but i am sure if i lived in the middle east i would smoke one and be able to find real tobacco for one of thoes things. They are more like Bongs than anything else I think LOL
