pairing
I just enjoyed a bowl of Peterson Old Dublin on a rather chilly walk around the neighborhood. While walking past a coffee and tea shop, I decided I needed a warm drink as well. I ordered an Earl Grey with a good amount of milk (I usually take my tea straight, but the shop was advertising a new drink special, so I thought what the hell?) The sweetness of the tea latte (I guess that's what I'll have to call it) really brought out the sweetness of the tobacco - great combo! It would probably work with any latakia blend for those interested.
Additionally, as a noob, I just discovered the great trick of putting a lit pipe in my coat pocket while inside ordering, walking out the door and immediately enjoying it once again without a relight! Finally, in attempts to persuade my wife to allow me to smoke in a nook near the back of the house (this, I don't think will ever happen), I purchased a can of Zep smoke eater from Home Depot. The product claims to be neutral (leaves no scent of its own), however, I find that it smells kind of like fresh paint mixed with citrus - or in other words, way worse than the aroma of pipe tobacco! Anyone else thinking about getting this particular odor eater should save their $4.37.

My wife, not a chance. I'm banished to the porch or the garage for life.
