Jamaica Trip

Looking for advice - I will be in Ocho in May. I am assuming fakes all over... should I pack my own, buy in airport, at resort, market?

Anyone with experience in Jamaica? Other pointers for the trip? (I am not concerned about the 'other' smoking material....)

Ditto this. As far as purchasing cigars in Jamaica I would shy away from that. I have been to Jamaica a lot and you are much better off buying your smokes at home,,

bring your own smokes, fakes are all over the place. all the duty free shopping zones advertise cubans but they are almost all fakes.

we just got back from there not that long ago. stayed at sandals in ocho rios, for the same amount i paid per night (butler house on hill with our own pool for privacy) i could have stayed at the ritz carlton. our butler did hook us up with a reall cool personal taxi cab driver. really clean nissan silva and he took us to a real jamacian jerk house. get some bread fruit, sausage and chicken. your $ will go far in the right places.

Oh,,,another thing about Jamaica. If you go out at night to any "night spots",,,keep your head on a swivel and go out with a group. If you go out with just yourself or your wife, g/f,,etc. you will be sized up and watched cuz you're a tourist who is ripe to be picked. Too many horror stories about what happens over there.
