Some interesting Ebay auctions going on (Tobacco)

Word. Well, to follow up... I actually picked up a tin of '83 crop Red Ribbon for a decent price.... go ebay. Been meaning to add this blend to my collection but it's normally too expensive. I'm not sure if I will be able to bring myself to smoke it for a long time... but hey, it will be here for me when I'm ready.

fyi - if you go to McCranies and try to oder the '96 crop red ribbon, you get the newer '00 crop w/ an '08 tinning date. a buddy showed me his latest tin.

I've actually never had it before but I do have some of the '96 for comparison and should pick up the '00 crop for further experimentation.

I am making these purchases for research purposes only and for the sake of human advancement.

I have seen his ebay auctions where he referred to current production as discontinued. I contacted him by email about the practice and I know WHY he did it - but that doesn't make it right and it's still a lie. It also defrauds buyers without the experience to know what's what in the tobacco market.

It's misrepresentation at best and I have no problem calling that spade a spade. Ebay has their rules and that's that. I don't think he did it out of dishonesty - I think he wanted an outlet on ebay and decided to "twist" some of his descriptions. I have no reason to think his pipe sales are anything but straight up but the ebay tobacco listings were just plain wrong and he knew it.
