Is anyone stocking up becuase of SCHIP?

No, not really - mainly because money is tight. Also I dont understand how severely the increase will effect my bottom line, but in a perfect world I would be stocking up for the hell of it.

Any idea how much more expensive a 50 or 100g tin of pipe tobacco will be?

edit - Ok I looked at the other thread, it appears to be a 20 cent increase for a 50 gram tin. While I think this increase is unwarranted and is complete bs, it won't break the bank for me when I am in a better position to buy tobacco... but it does represent a ~2.5% increase in price (assuming 8 bucks for a tin).

money is tight for me as well, but not due to any ecomonic woes.
i voted "no", for the reason above, and cuz i have a lot of tobacco right now. of course, if this stuff gets outlawed, then i'm screwed in a few years... so, i may start to place some orders every month or two of my favorites.

i do need to place an order now, i'm out of some fo them, and so many tobaccos i want to stock up on.

Im with everyone else on the money being tight issue but I have been grabbing what ever extras I can afford lately to stock up on.

I've used the tax increases as an excuse to buy and stash a bit more.
(I,m glad the wife doesn't read this stuff or I'd be busted)

I really don't buy any more and certainly not any less. I buy what I want when I want,,,life is too short to minimize my favorite things to do. You only live once in this life,,enjoy it as much as possible.

Just got divorced 1 month ago after 5 years as a stay-at-home-dad to 3 kids. Now out on my own and looking for work, so money is REALLY tight now.

Got 395 cigars in the Vino so as tempting as it always is to buy and try new stogies gotta make the ones I have last for a good while.

No, a .20 increase is hardly enough for me to worry about as far as tins go, but as for cigars maybe a different story.

No not really. I have been looking at purchasing bulk blending tobaccos to use with the tobacco I have been growing and storing for the past few years. Yesterday I smoked a bowl of a blend that I prepared over a year ago using 75% homegrown tobacco and I enjoyed it. The more I grow, cure, blend and cellar the more I learn.

I've been buying more lately, but not because of SCHIP. It seems someone has spilled some oil on the 'ol slope, and I've gone speeding down.

Pipes&cigars already raised some prices. $9.10 for a 2 oz tin of C&D, I am sure it was $7 something two weeks ago.
I did get a 8 oz tin for $22.96 on Jan 7, now it is $25.41
