Aromatics in the house?

Since aromatic pipe tobaccos are renowned for "smelling good" to those who aren't smoking them, do they stink up the house less than cigarettes/cigars? Or is it all the same at the end of the day?

If smoking MacBaren's Vanilla makes the house smell like my wife's french vanilla scented candles, I would be able to smoke inside!

Pipe dreams, but it's worth asking about.

i don't feel that over the long haul that they will remain as pleasant smelling as they do when you're smoking them.

i noticed that when i smoke one in my car, then get out, come back about 4 hours later, it doesn't smell anywhere near as good as it did at the time it was being smoked.

you could always try it once.

True. Worst that could happen, doghouse for a day or two... Not like that hasn't happened before.

I'll just note that, when I smoke a cigar on the way home, my wife complains a lot when I get there about the smell. The car smells for a day or so. When I smoke an aromatic on the way home, she doesn't even notice and there's no real residual the next day in the car. In both cases I have the window cracked and the smoke is pulled right out as I drive.

I have been finding that the scent of aromatics seem to diffuse faster and don't stick around as long as others. When I smoke MacBaren's Vanilla my wife can hardly tell I've been smoking. The last time I had a bowl of Vanilla my wife came home afterwards gave me a hug and told me I smelled great!

i am a very light smoker (1-3 cigars or pipe bowls a week)

i will never smoke a cigar in the house, but i often will smoke an aromatic in the house.

my wife HATES cigar smoke but loves pipe aromatics.

she DOES warn me to not do it too often, though.

Yeah... maybe this is kind of like how when you burn incense, the smell never sticks around, yet cigarettes stink a house up for years. Only the bad smells stick around.

Now if my box of freebie aromatics will just show up, I can test the theory out.

I don't know about aromatics, but VA's smell sweet after some time, and my GF and family members don't complain about it, they actually say it smells nice. Cigar smoke- they can't stand.

Noticed that the same doesn't go for Englishes, one look at my girlfriend one night and I knew I wasn't going to be finishing my bowl of Balkan Flake
