Retort Cleaning

I cleaned my first pipe with a retort today. I had a older grabo to practice on and i could not belive what came out of that pipe. I used 91% alcohol 3 loades of alcohol and im still not finished. Lucky it was a older pipe because i over boiled it a few times and it comes out the bowl top thru the cotton you stuff the bowl top with. But once i got the boil down it worked rather good with a back and forth motion. Mastering the the boil is the key. It should be interesting to see how it smokes when im done with it. Last week i did the alcohol and cotton ball treatment rather then salt on it. I thought it was pretty clean by how dirty the cotton was but i was so wrong. I'll let you know how it works out when im finished and had my first bowl thru it.

the pipe i cleaned yesterday i tried tonight and it was great. best smoke in that pipe in years. thats my nightcap pipe which is before bed only, i smoke nightcap in it. can't wait till bed time on friday
