a great retailer in the past for me is affordablepipes.com. they are knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. he also has some amazing hand-crafted tampers and pens and such. i definitely say check them out, especially if you aren't looking for high-end dunhills and such, but want (what else?) and affordable pipe! oh, and the guys at asp are amazing as well. i have been a member there for years; thats where i got my idea for the PIF (sorry it fell through, but i am glad SlowTriathalete is doing his thing ). check them out as well!

Very nice list of sites. Thanks for starting me on my research. Looking to smoke in the house and I have always liked pipes. Way back a buddy and me had some corn cob and cpt black. Good stuff. Now i am looking to "graduate". Have no idea what kind of pipe to look for so i will start looking. Same too for tobacco. Thanks again for the links.

I've dealt with Payless Pipes before - they're pretty good. http://www.paylesspipes.com/
And, if you're just getting into pipes, I'd advise getting their "basket deal". 3 pipes for only $64.95 - pick either 2 straights and 1 bent stem or all bents. ![]()

Just added a few more sites to the list up top. These are all for Pipe Making. I have decided to take the plunge as my wintertime project. I will take pictures and document as I go. Wasn't sure if anyone else was interested so I thought that I would post them.
