First Bowl of Penzance
I'm about to partake of my first bowl of Penzance. As I opened the tin I was bowled over by the smell. I'm having fits trying to describe it. I have it rubbed out, laying out to dry a bit, as it seems to be damp. It smells rather smokey and kind of leathery. Any tips from someone who somkes penznace would be helpful. I can tell this isn't any normal blend.

Well after all the hype I've read on another forum about penzance I smoked my first bowl and was not impressed. It has a real earthy taste and some taste that seemed familiar and kind of moldy or something. I'l wait a while and try it again, but I'm not hopeful it will be any better.

Yeah,
It takes a bit to get used to. I'm still not crazy about Latakia blends yet but I'm exploring!!

Latakia is definitely something to get used to. In fact, the English type blends that I smoke most often tend to be heavier on the Virginia side.
