I was on another forum the other day talking about favorite Stanwell shapes. Well, I had never really had a favorite Stanwell shape. I had had a few but none ever moved me.

That was until a few years ago and it was a pipe that I never bought.

I was down at Low Country Tobacco (smokingpipes.com retail shop) a few years back when one of the guys busted out some of the new Stanwells that they had just received in. One shape really caught my eye. It was a Zebrano Volcano. Now I had never seen a Stanwell Volcano and it was a great shape. But I had gone down there to buy a Peterson Zulu and that is what I left with. I have kicked myself ever since for not buying that Stanwell. I have looked for it in vain since then.

Well, the guy who opened the post over there PM'd me today and said that he thought that the pipe I was talking about was over on Frenchy's pipes as an estate for only $35.

I clicked on the link that he attached and OH MY GOD there was the pipe that I had been looking for at half the price!!!

Needless to say, that pipe is now soon to be at my household and for a price that I can't argue with.

Here is a picture from his site. I will let everyone know how it smokes when I get it.

I love those moments in life! You want something so bad, and you dont get it, you kick yourself. Then, later on down the track BAM!, there it is.

Me and my girl had a similar thing happen to us. In early high school we both had the hots for eachother bad, but I thought she didnt like me, & vice versa. 12 years later we bump into each other, and thats how we came to start dating.

Thats a beautiul pipe too! Im glad you finally got to purchaseit. I saw a similar one on ebay I was keen to get, but got out of my bidding range, and I refused to bid any more. I was less than $2 short.

Scott, that is an AWESOME pipe brother. I tell you, that is what the pipe I had in college was shaped like. For the life of me, I can't find the darn thing, but it looked a helluva lot like that. Not a Stanwell, I'm sure, but it was very, very similar if my memory doesn't betray me.

Regardless, that is a BEAUT! Nice score Sir, nice score!
