What is your most interesting tobacco?

Hey all,

I am curious about what interesting or unique tobaccos you may have come across. I am not necessarily talking about your favorite tobaccos, or those with awful artificial casings added that make them unique in a cheap way, I want to know of ones that fall outside of the main categories of what we enjoy. Maybe even the stuff of legend, no longer available - like "...aged in a marching bands bass drum for 6 years to help marry the flavours", desert-rock baccy from the plains of Cydonia, or 6000 year old Pharaoh tobacco etc.

Bon,

Grinny

Re: What is your most interesting tobacco?

Tobacciana is largely free of the horrendous hype that plagues a lot of hobbies. I don't see many weird claims such as the ones to which you refer. In fact, most of the tobacco descriptions I see are fairly generic. But I've decided that the most interesting tobacco I'd LIKE to see is one with a sizzling porterhouse steak aroma.

Is this an actual blend or a joke? Have you smoked it?

I would say Esoterica Stonehaven (EvanS) is "interesting". A burley (EvanS) flake, oversized and pitch black, looks like a roofing shingle - frightening. Once lit, the chocolate aroma that wafts in and out is a delightful surprise, one expects a burley (EvanS) nicotine powerhouse but it is very smooth and flavorful. A quality and unique burley (EvanS) blend.

I am fairly sure ot was an April Fool's Day joke, but who knows? Those New Zealanders are some wild individuals.

Re: What is your most interesting tobacco?

hmmm... I dunno most of my stuff is pretty run of the mill. Perhaps Erinmore flake would be the weirdest? It's a love it or hate it type blend that is pretty well know... a lightly aromatic virginia flake... rumored to be scented with pineapple.

I wouldn't call it interesting, weird surely. It had an aroma like fresh baked bread, with fruity and nutty tastes. I only tried one tin of it, didn't care for it.

Re: What is your most interesting tobacco?

I would have to say, right now, it is Distinguished Penguin. Looks like oat or nut flakes with bits of dried fruit. Smells almost like it looks. Dry as a bone tempting you to rehydrate. Packs like a fresh pile of shredded sponge; won't tamp down. On lighting acts like it is just FULL of water!

The taste is quite nice with sweetness, spice, tang and smokiness. As a matter of fact .....
