Re: Pipe Smoking Article

I started smoking a pipe a couple years ago when I was 21. Reminded me of when my dad would sit outside and light up for a bit. I loved that smell. Haven't had the time or good weather to smoke lately, but the guys keep asking when I'll light up next. Apparently it's a hit around the barracks.

Hey, this could mean college riots over pipe tobacco tax increases. For some reason, the fed's worst nightmare is college riots.

Surprisingly, this is the same side that loves to call people on the more Conservative side of the political spectrum "fascist" at almost ever turn.
A quick study of the Progressive movement in the U.S. reveals that they held fascism, and even National Socialism for that matter, in high regard up to, and through, the 1930's. They attempted, through the policies of Woodrow Wilson, and later F.D.R., to implement progressive, or even blatantly fascist, reforms in the U.S.
But wait. I'm sorry...I forgot.. this IS a pipe and cigar forum, isn't it? What were we talking about?
oh, my gripe is mostly with the knee jerk reaction of seeing almost anything that has to do with the state (like regulating the lives of citizens through legislation) as "communist" (or fascist). it SO weakens the force of one's arguments as a whole.

but yes, we'd better stop here!

Re: Pipe Smoking Article

I found the article refreshing. I've been smoking a pipe since my college days almost 20 years ago. During that time, I have known very few people who smoked a pipe. I've never really understood why more people don't smoke a pipe since the art of pipe smoking is so enjoyable and relaxing. I can only hope that more people realize what a pleasant hobby pipe smoking can be.

Re: Pipe Smoking Article

Most people don't have the patience or will make the time to smoke a pipe.

I love to smoke a pipe when I'm alone. I get bored smoking cigars by myself
