Butera's Royal Vintage

I just purchased a 50g tin of said tobac and I am smoking it right now in a new Wessex Dublin rustic with a cumberland stem. I am thoroughly enjoying it. This is my first Virginia blend as it was one of the few available at the closest B&M. The tin states "A select combination of 3 distinctively different matured Virginias, including a bright, zesty lemon, a mellow, sun-dappled red, and a sweet, delicious slow stoved black." In the tin it kind of smells of dried fruit and there is a definite sweetness when smoking. I was wondering if anyone else has tried this, and if so, did you like it? How does it compare to other Virginias?

Re: Butera's Royal Vintage

I tried it back when i received my first Newbie Sampler Trade (thanks frankluke). It was a small sample, but i savored it. I thought it was positively delicious. I smoked it out of a mini-Kaywoodie in order to ration it out better (plus i think it tastes good in that little pipe). I noticed many high notes and the description "zesty" is fairly accurate. It has a sweetness to it that i love. I bought a tin not long ago that looked like it had been on the shelf for several years, i plan on keeping it sealed for a bit longer.

As far as comparison to other Virginians: I haven't smoked it in a long time but if i recall correctly, i'd say this one is sweeter than others. Maybe not "most", but a number of them. I wouldn't describe this as a "full" tobacco, but then again i was smoking out of a mini pipe so i could be missing out. Regardless, this blend didn't have to be full for me to enjoy it.

*bump for this missed thread
