Holy guacamole! Boswell's rocks! Nuf said.

In seriousness though, Boswell's had great rep, makes quality affordable pipes (very good for the price range), and had decent Aros (if that is your thing) to boot.

I have only owned one Boswell, but I have only heard positive things about them.

If you don't see what you like on their website, call the store. They are frequently willing to email pics of stuff they have if you describe what you are looking for. They have also been known to take an order for a specific shaped pipe.

Hope that helps.

I own nearly 20 boswells and never had a bad smoke.
JM ,Danny and Gail are top notch people to deal with,

I recommend them fully.

I agree. My first briar was a Boswell classic ($55) and I absolutely loved it.

Re: Boswell Pipes

I own a Boswell pipe and mine is a solid smoker. It's one of the pipes that I reach for when I want a good, satisfying smoke and don't feel like playing games.

Hermit, that's the only Boswell I've ever seen that I wouldn't mind owning.

Re: Boswell Pipes

I've been looking fondly at the Boswell galleries, lately. I really like the style of many of them, and JM's reputation seems to be impeccable.

Once I'm done destroying my newbie corncob, I think I'll likely see if I can get a Boswell for my first "real" pipe.

While I have never heard anything but good experiences with Boswell, they normally just aren't my style.....except Hermits! Cool pipe.

Re: Boswell Pipes

Hmm... you've just made my pipe wishlist longer. I'd like to have a quality handmade American pipe in my collection. All the pipes on their site are sold out, but their store is less than two hours away from me. It might be worth a roadtrip especially because it seems like a great family run shop. Does anyone know if they usually have pipes available in the store even if all the ones on the site are sold out?

Brian,

They usually have quite a few pipes in the store. I have not been to the store, but if you email them with a description of the shape you are looking for, they will send you pictures of the pipes they have in the store that fit that description.

Most things on the website direct folks to call the store, so I'd give them a ring before hopping in the car for two hours.
