UPS lost my new pipe

I bought another Joh's Giant, UPS says they delivered it on Tue. Lucky for me Mark at SmokingPipes.com said he will make sure somebody makes good on it. However, the pipes are unique and this was an especially large giant.

I"ve gotten over 40 packages over the last month ... no exaggeration, but I have tracked every one of them. I get home every day and can't wait to check my deliveries. Besides, you know how it is with pipes .... you wait on every single one.

What address did they deliver it to? It sounds dumb but you have to ask. Do you have a porch? Where'd they put the package?

My UPS/Fedex experience (briefly): For about 15 years I bought and sold audio gear, usually tube amps, turntables, etc. FEDUPs would occasionally damage one and I'd go six months and through hell to get reimbursed. Finally I got smart and started shipping via the company I worked for (my main job). Never a problem after that. These delivery companies don't care about you and I but they do value their corporate clients. Smokingpipes will get reimbursed. You, on the other hand, are out a handmade pipe that you may never see again - that one, or another exactly like it. Sad, but true. Sorry about your rotten luck on this deal but at least you aren't out the pipe AND the money.

One other thing... nice taste in pipes! Those Johs pipes are great and the Giant I own is a killer. Smokes great, perfect engineering, looks cool and it holds a buttload of tobacco!

Sorry to hear that - maybe try checking with your neighbors? The time this happened to me, it was delivered to the guy in the basement apartment by mistake.

Call up UPS and make them tell you who signed for it.

I'm sorry to hear that. What I would do is find out who signed for it, just like someone already mentioned before me. If it wasn't a package that required a signature, it is possible that they left it on your porch and someone came by and took off with it (maybe someone took notice to the fact that you've been receiving a lot of packages?). I've had that happen to me once. Real pain in the hole. Now I always leave a small note taped to my door instructing the delivery person to hide the package in the bush next to my front door, then take the note with him.
