Nominations for 1st Mayor of the Pipe Forum

It's fine to have mods but it isn't like they're elected officials working on behalf of the citizenry. The pipe forum should have a mayor. After about 11 nominations there will be in-depth discussion of qualifications, a run-off and a vote. Since I invented the Mayor of the Pipe Forum I get to make the first nomination(s); you can make as many as you want.

While the job will mainly be ceremonial (probably involving a powdered wig, a robe, an uber-heavy Mr. C Solid Brass (engraved) Tamper/Gavel* and some ribbon-cutting events) it really means R-E-S-P-E-C-T from those wandering around in here. The term of orifice would be about six months then we can have a new mayor or keep the old one. The mayor should get paid in pipe cleaners, new cobs (that he can hand out as "Welcome" pipes) and leftover tobacco that isn't totally dried out.

If elected, you must serve.

In a perfect world I'd prefer to be ruled by an enlightened despot; someone with a mandate from heaven who actually serves the best interest of us poor masses who can't tell the difference between a Balkan and an Oriental. But seeing as how those are hard to come by these days (even among this noble group of pipe smokers), I'll take good old democracy in action.

Can we call the position Mayor of Pipeville (or some pipe-related town name, Briarton? Tobaccotown?) rather than the Pipe Forum? Every mayor needs a town.

For a Rad Davis pipe, I would even be willing to assassinate the other nominees.
