Re: How about an accessories photo thread.

I just made a pipe rack out of Legos yesterday - I'll try to get a picture at some point. It was harder to make than I thought it would be, and to be honest I'm not really sure how much money I saved over buying a cheap wooden one. The big box of Legos was about 25 bucks (have Legos always been so expensive?) and I only ended up with a 9-pipe rack.

You should look at the theme sets (Star Wars, etc...) those things are crazy $$.

I remember when you used to buy little 30 piece Lego sets with one figure and a car for $2, and I loved that stuff! Nowadays you can't get something good for under $20.

I digress!
I have a little box with a few pipe tools in it. One Tasson Pipe Pal with a tamper spoon stirrer and knife, a Dunhill "Carbon Cutter", a pipe shaped pipe tool with a tamper scraper and stirrer, an unmarked tool with a stirrer spoon and tamper (like the Czech tools), and a plain old pipe nail. Also in the box is an interesting Wright Machine Co. cigar punch that I think is really cool. I'll post pictures in an hour or two.

Re: How about an accessories photo thread.

Ok this is officially the LEGO thread now.

There's a thread from a few months ago entitled "show us ya pipe toys" or something like that that has some of those photos. I'll see if I can find it

edit: Here it is Show us ya pipe toys It was kind of a dud of a thread

A dud thread like all of mine. This forum should become read only. Everything has been asked and said before.

Re: How about an accessories photo thread.

My new pipe started to get hot while I a was smoking it, so I put it down for a few minutes and got all of my stuff that was mildly interesting together for a picture.

There's a big Peterson dogbowl ashtray with a knocker in the middle. A candy jar I got at Walmart and painted (there's a shamrock on the top, it's hard to see). A Zippo pipe lighter, brass Venetian. And the aformentioned Lego pipe rack.

I wanted to stand the pipes up the "American" way, but it ended up being too difficult to build. So I basically just made a grid to stick the pipes in and hold them by the bowl. I keep my Czech tool, Zippo, matches, and a folding pipe stand in an empty tobacco tin and I found that it fits nicely in the bottom of the rack underneath the pipes. If anyone has any tips on how to build a better rack I'm all ears (err.. eyes).

Also pictured are all of my pipes. The two in the back are Dr. Grabow Omega and Riviera. The two in the front are a Peterson Aran with a lot of bend in it and a non-branded featherweight second slightly bent calabash-ish shape. The one being smoked is a Savinelli Natural Canadian.
