I could believe that from the price ($4,000+), but I didn't see where it said it was OWNED by Crosby. It looked like it was saying it was a Bing Crosby model.

I met a guy recently who owned Bob Hope's old jet, which I thought was cool.

Yep! I own a basket pipe once owned by President Gerald Ford. How do I know? Because it smelled of Field & Stream when I acquired it and because I say so!!!!! I may sell it on Ebay.

I bought a used zulu that came from Paul's Pipe Shop (Paul - Six-time World Champion Pipe Smoker - Spaniola). Paul probably touched it once or twice.

That's as close as I come to pipes and real-deal fame.



(I do have a Dale Earnhart qualifying tire (from N. Wilkesboro) and I know it was smoking when it came off the car. Not the same thing, though.)

A guy offered me $500 as I carried it out of the infield. (Rusty Wallace won that race - April '93.) Junior was driving out moments before Bill Elliott qualified in the Budweiser car. A pit guy hollered, "Hey Junior! Aintcha gonna wortsch Beal quallerfy?" and he said back, "Hail no. I got grass to cut." and drove off. I also have pieces of the 3-car (including the "3" from the faux-headlight) that were torn off in a Charlotte wall-banging incident. I have credentials, witnesses, personal references and enough backup memorabelia to certify my 3-car stuff came from the actual 3-car.

Now for the life of me I cannot figure out that $4000 "Bing" pipe auction. THAT is really weird.
