Well, the start of a TR Forum would give some the chance to rebut some of the asinine reviews that come across more as a "Look at Me I'm Special and Everyone Should Like Only What I Like, OR ELSE!!"

It would be interesting to see how it would work the way Jon seems to prefer it. The World doesn't need yet another general smoking forum ...

Well, I guess it will all depend on the moderaters. Surely the guy is planning on a team of mods, otherwise it'll be chaos after the trolls get wind there's a new forum about.

Only there's a cigar forum. Those cigar-first guys are very edgy.

Pipesmokers seem a very decent lot.

(Go ahead. Ask one.)

Hopefully they'll offer a block user option. Ever wonder what a forum would be like if the opinions were split down the middle and everyone used the block user? Could two forums exist in the same place while not interacting with each other at all?

(This is exactly the kind of thought-provoking, esoteric, introspective, conflict-avoiding, genteel, evenhanded sort of question you'd get from a pipe smoker. A cigar guy... no telling.)

tr.com, aimed at pipe smokers, would be my idea of where the SF regulars might slide if the thing really closes down.

I didn't see the "Tonights smoke" thread, so this is just perfect timing....popped my first tin of 1792....I love the stuff. A great flake, smokes cool, lovely taste, 4 stars. I find Irish Flake stronger though.

But seriously I think a forum on TR is a great idea. Just think, all those wannabe novel writers talking about pipe tobacco in just one place...great...should reduce new threads here by at least 25%.

Laff if you must, Herr Mayor, but if the tobak-tolstoys all start making videos at once you're screwed.

Good comeback, but given Dub's background, I would've abandoned the alliteration tobac-tolstoy provides and used fellow Irish expatriate James Joyce instead. Plus "stream of consciousness" aptly describes many of the rambling posts on TR (I'm sure I'm guilty of a few over here as well).

I think the future of SF was resolved after a day or two. Art is the new chief administrator provided he doesn't get overwhelmed

Stream of consciousness That explains why I skim most reviews on TR, kinda like I did Faulkner

I've yet to see a flame war on this forum. A sane bunch we are.
