Re: Virginia

my understanding is that Christmas Cheer is different every year. Like the vintage of a wine tobacco tastes different from year to year. Most blends the tobbacanist will and or subtract elements to maintain a flavor from year to year, but christmass cheer is a straight virginia, with no addatives so the flavour will change from year to year.

This is one of those that I have thought about getting several times, I may pick some up soon.

Re: Virginia

Well I finally tried my first this AM on my commute to the office (SG full virginia). Popped the tim this AM and looked very similar to X-mas cheer 2008. A lillte work rubbing/breaking it down. Overall an extremely pleaseant experience with a nice natual sweet taste and very smooth. I will definately make sure I always a tin of this around.

Well, it is not exactly the same as wine. Typically with fine wine you are getting grapes grown in the same field year after year and the crop can be different due to the weather.

With Cheer they change the blend each year. So it will use different percentages of different types of aged Virginians. If you read the labels on different years, you will see different tobaccos going into them.

Rattrays- Hal O the Wind

My tin of Hal o the wind came in on saturday so I naturally had to give it a try... it started out a bit bland but developed into a really pleasant smoke... but then it turned out to be very high on the nicotine content.

Holy Frijoles! I was sweating up a storm.

Tasted great though...

IRC VA Flake is a great smoke. Give it a try. It is sweet smoking and really enjoyable. It is also inexpensive.

Samuel Gawith's Best Brown flake is incredible and my favorite smoke right now. You can smoke it all day and it won't bite you at all.

I've read plenty of opinions from smokers who praise this blend to the skies, so I ordered some online, only to find that it's on backorder. This is happening more frequently with popular rave-worthy blends. People must either be stocking up or there are distribution problems from overseas.
